Poor workmanship in parts

Obvious low bidder type kit. Threads are poorly done and require lots of tape to seal. Most parts in the kit are not needed and the individual would be better served to buy what is really needed in an individual high quality part and not have a lot of left over parts of dubious quality.

Disappointing

Nice variety of accessories, but cheap metal, poor China construction. One of the connection pieces had a beyond obvious flaw from the factory. The first 3 threads were not alligned and a large notch went through them, making it basically unusable. The blow gun is too small, designed for a child maybe. The valves do not thread snug with the air hose, heavy tape needed to stop severe air leakage. Not what I would expect from Porter Cable.

Great starter kit

A good set of parts for assembling hoses to a compressor and performing basic functions. The pieces in the set are well constructed. Well worth the money.

For what its worth, I didn't have any problem with the shipping.

Confident Purchase

All women with little to no experience with tools will find this drill kit easy to understand and use. The only improvement I would suggest is providing an option to purchase additional bits.

not bad the second time around

I recieved the first of these drills as a comp at my local lumberyard. I was fairly pleased with it, but it seemed to have less torque than my old makita 12v, which drove 3-1/2" screws like crazy. After about two weeks, however, I set the drill down to grab something else and when I turned around the drill was on fire, with a big cloud of black smoke pouring out of it. When I showed it to the mak rep at the lumberyard (who I just happened to run into) he was only mildly surprised, and got me a new one within a week, at no cost, no questions asked. Overall not a bad drill, but not what I expected from makita, based on my great experience with my old 12v.

One of the best drills I have used

This is my 4th Makita cordless drill and as usual I am very impressed with it. I appreciate the feature that allows you to click from the clutch to drill mode with a flip of a switch versus having to turn the housing 360 degrees. i expected the power/strength of the drill to be strong since it is an 18 volt - no surprises here - very impressive. The only thing I would like to see is a little less weight. Every ounce counts when using a tool like this over the long term.

We found the Edge Hog has plenty of power in its 2-1/4-horsepower motor for both edging and trenching, and it's easy to switch from one to the other by simply raising or lowering the edge guide. Boss Edger

This is a great machine. I have Zoysia grass which has not been edged for over 15 years. The Boss Edger cut right through it (in some places had to make a couple of passes but nonetheless it cut right through it) and made a tough task easier than I expected. Highly recommend the Boss Edger.

good out of the box

It worked as advertised out of the box. Easy to assemble and operate. The real test will be how it is working 5 years from now.

Gets the Job Done for Light Work

Having used this edger for a year, I can say that it is suitable for light work in dry conditions. As soon as the going gets heavy then multiple passes are needed. If the lawn has any moisture at all, then it clogs frequently. The guide is inadequate and care must be taken to ensure the blade remains in the turf and off the concrete. Blade wear hasn't been an issue for me. If you are dead set against gas edgers, try this one.
